Research group of Vasily Kravtsov

Research interests:

  • Optics of 2D semiconductors, including monolayers, heterostructures, and hybrid structures based on nanoresonators, photonic crystals, and metasurfaces
  • Development and study of optical properties of single-photon quantum sources for quantum computing and quantum communications
  • Nonlinear exciton-polaritons in low-dimensional semiconductor structures
  • 2D magnetic materials and heterostructures based on them, as well as magneto-optics and valleytronics in systems based on 2D semiconductors

Beacon projects 2025

  • Control of quantum correlated states in electrically tunable 2D semiconductor monolayers and heterostructures for quantum modeling tasks (in collaboration with the Russian Quantum Center)
  • Exciton transport in heterostructures based on 2D semiconductors for the implementation of ultra-compact excitonic integrated circuits (project of the Frontier Laboratory within the program Priority 2030)
  • Study of 2D magnetic materials (CrSBr, NiPS3, CrBr3, etc.) and light-matter interactions in structures based on them for the creation of new optically controlled memory elements
