Radiofrequency Coils for MRI: from 0.05 to 14 Tesla
Abstract

Radiofrequency (RF) coils are one of the key components of MRI hardware. They directly impact the spatial and temporal resolution, sensitivity, and uniformity of MR images. In the introduction of this talk, fundamental electromagnetics of MRI coils will be discussed. Then, we will discuss the evolution of coils from the first solenoidal coils used at the first MRI experiments to modern multi-channel arrays used in modern ultra-high field systems.
