Research group of Alexey Shcherbakov

Research areas:

  • Development of numerical methods and software for modeling the electromagnetic properties of complex optical and radiophysical structures.
  • Application of methods and software for analysis of physical effects and optimization of optical and radiophysical structures.
  • Development of open-source, science-driven software.
  • Supervision and development of the Computational Physics educational track in the Bachelor’s and Master’s programs of the Faculty of Physics.

2025 projects:

  • Development of new ultra-efficient and hybrid methods for modeling multiscale periodic or quasi-periodic optical and radiophysical resonant structures, including using machine learning methods (within the framework of a grant from the Russian Science Foundation)
  • Development of modeling methods and research of the physical properties of highly discrete metamaterials in the radio frequency range using ab-initio modeling (within the framework of a grant from the Russian Science Foundation)
  • Development of science-driven software within industrial projects (R&D contracts)
  • Development of open-source software (a grant from the FASIE)
