Research fellow of the laboratory "Metamaterials" Roman E. Noskov has published monograph titled "Metamaterials. From left-handed media to nonlinear plasmonics". This monograph is devoted to theoretical investigation of different metamaterials.\ Special attention is given to electrodynamics of so-called left-handed mediums: a brief history of creation of such structures is provided, also all their properties are considered in details. In addition, we study some nonlinear phenomena in nanostructured metamaterials: effect of spontaneous electrodynamics symmetry breaking in light scattering in geometrically symmetric nonlinear metal nanodimers and optical bistability in planar metal-dielectric nanostructures. The monograph is addressed to researchers, graduate students in physics disciplines and for anyone interested in modern trends of physics.
