Yuri S. Kivshar was awarded with the Lebedev medal for outstanding achievements in advancing laser science and engineering, facilitating the exchange of information and popularization of laser science. The awarding ceremony was held on 30th June at the conference on Laser Optics.\ Lebedev Medal was established by the Rozhdestvensky Optical Society in 1993 in honor of outstanding scientist, academician Alexander A. Lebedev (1893-1969).
