Selection of the School participants is made on the basis of applicant’s CV and motivation letter. All participants are invited to attend the Poster Session. The School will be held offline on 8-13 April 2024 in Qingdao, China.

Citizens of Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, France, Germany and Malaysia are able to enter China without Visa, with the regular passport, to make business and tourist trips and visit relatives and friends for 15 days.

Educational track selection

The practical classes are divided on two tracks, dedicated to experimental measurements and numerical simulations, respectively.

  • Experimental track includes 3 laboratory works dedicated to the measurements in an anechoic chamber, impedance tube and underwater anechoic chamber. You will learn how to characterize acoustic transducers, how to measure transmission and absorption spectra of a metamaterial and how to build low-cost setups for future measurements.
  • Following the Numerical track you will gain skills in the modeling of acoustic systems using COMSOL Multiphysics software. In particular, you will learn how to simulate absorbing metamaterials, underwater and MEMS transducers, acoustic black holes, and structures supporting bound states in the continuum. 

Each participant can choose only one preferable track. Please, be aware that the number of enrollments to each of the tracks is limited. When the number of the enrollments exceeds the limit, the rest of the participants will be automatically enrolled to the remaining track.
