Nonliner electrodynamics (NLED) is one of the most popular modification of classsical Maxwell electrodynamics. Some models of NLED is well motivated by quantum field theory (on the on hand) and lagrangian's symmetries (on the other hand). In this seminar we discuss about fundamental principles of NLED model building and its applications in astrophysics and condensed matter physics.
