Nonlinear lead-free halide perovskite metasurfaces represent a promising platform for efficient frequency conversion using low-toxic, solution-processable materials. We are developing these metasurfaces using two different material systems: germanium halide perovskites, where strong second-order nonlinearity arises from the stereochemically active lone electron pairs of germanium, and chiral bismuth halides, where noncentrosymmetry and nonlinear optical activity are induced by chiral organic cations. To structure these films, we use simple and scalable nanofabrication methods, specifically nanoimprint lithography and laser ablation. These methods enable the creation of resonant structures that significantly enhance second-harmonic generation. In this talk, I will present our results on the fabrication and characterization of these nanostructured platforms, demonstrating their potential for integrated nonlinear photonic devices in sensing and communications.
