Metal nanoparticles support collective oscillations of free electrons. High local fields result in enhanced optical responses. Here we discuss recent experiments on Kerker invisibility caused by fractal metal shells, bi-exponential decay of fluorescence from emitters coupled via plasmons, and high quality deep UV spin-polarized plasmon resonances in Co nanoparticles.
