Why space matters

Abstract
Space isn’t just a distant backdrop for stars and galaxies — it’s a natural laboratory that pushes science forward. In this talk, we’ll explore how studying the Universe reveals the foundations of physics, transforms our understanding of chemical processes, and offers clues about the origins and limits of life itself. From the behavior of matter in extreme environments to the chemistry of interstellar clouds and the biology of worlds beyond Earth, space research shows why the cosmos matters far more than it seems.
