Edge states in finite chains are not uncommon, particularly in cases of quasi-dimensional chains. Studying the topological nature of these edge states can be challenging, and opting for the wrong approach to calculate topological properties often leads to misleading results, leaving such models largely unexplored. In this presentation, I will discuss the robustness and topological properties of the quasi-one-dimensional zigzag model, sharing the obtained results.
