This Thursday the first convention of our European and Asian colleagues\, members of such international optical societies as Society of Photo-Optical Instrumentation Engineers (SPIE), Photonics Society of Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and Optical Society of America (OSA). The convention is due to the opening ceremony of the International Year of Light and Light-based Technologies in St. Petersburg.
