Prof. Yuri Kivshar has been awarded the 2014 Massey Medal of the Institute of Physics (UK).\ The citation reads: "For his outstanding research in the field of nonlinear optics and the development of pioneering concepts in nonlinear metamaterials and metadevices". The award will be presented by the IOP President at the AIP 2014 Congress in Australia next month. Professor Kivshar will also give an invited talk on his research at the Congress.
