"Stereographic projection approach to dynamics of skyrmionic spin structures."
ABSTRACT: Magnetic skyrmions are topologically protected configurations of the magnetization. We consider the model of 2D ferromagnet with Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction (DMI) and external magnetic field. The stereographic projection approach allows one to construct a skyrmion crystal (SkX) configuration accounting for interaction between skyrmions. We minimize energy of SkX over the lattice parameter and skyrmion radius, and discuss dynamics in terms of small variation of stereographic function. Nontrivial topological background leads to the appearance of additional vector potential in Schrödinger-like equation for spin-waves.
