The concepts of geometry and, specifically, quantum geometric tensor provide a powerful tool to examine various phenomena in quantum physics. The imaginary part of this tensor provides a Berry curvature which affects the motion of wavepackets and is responsible for the emergence of topological states. At the same time, the real part of quantum geometric tensor yields quantum metric, which has fruitful applications in the optimal control of quantum systems. In this talk, I will introduce these concepts and discuss their application to a simple model of superconducting quantum processor based on the array of coupled qubits.
The seminar is organized by the Center for Theoretical Physics of Complex Systems, Institute for Basic Science, South Korea
