Postdoc in the area of magnetic resonance imaging

We offer a researcher position in the project “Advanced quantitative technologies in magnetic resonance imaging for determining the stages of inflammation and fibrosis as disease markers.” The main goal is to develop quantitative MRI methods and provide translational support for their use in clinical practice. One of the objectives of the project is to develop special methods and protocols for quantitative MRI for early detection and monitoring of inflammation and fibrosis in specific organs.

Responsibilities

  • leading and organizing work on the development and implementation of modern protocols and methods of quantitative MRI to solve scientific problems in medical diagnostics;
  • close interaction with medical professionals;
  • scientific supervision of Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD students;
  • publishing scientific papers;
  • talks at conferences;
  • attracting financing (applying for grants, search for partners) individually and together with colleagues;
  • participation in educational activities;
  • active participation in the events and life of the Faculty, for example, organizing summer schools and events for students and PhD students.

Requirements

  • a PhD degree in physics and mathematics or in engineering (or a Russian degree: Candidate of Sciences);
  • papers published in international peer-reviewed journals in the area of medical imaging and related fields;
  • experience in creating and optimizing MR protocols;
  • programming skills (Matlab/ Python/C++ and their analogues);
  • practical experience of working with an MRI scanner;
  • experience of presenting at conferences;
  • knowledge of English: B2 (Upper-Intermediate) or a higher level; 
  • information analysis skills and decision-making skills; 
  • proactivity;
  • good communication skills. 

This would be an advantage:

  • papers published in high-rated journals (IF > 3), including papers as a first author; 
  • education in the area of medical physics;
  • experience in applying for grants and leading grants;
  • personal scholarships, awards, internship certificates;
  • experience in teaching or supervising students;
  • work experience abroad;
  • work experience in medical imaging (at a healthcare facility or company).
