On a competitive basis, we invite masters and graduate students to the Department of Physics and Engineering research center of nanophotonics and metamaterials. Under the guidance of experienced scientists, you will be able to conduct cutting-edge research under double international guidance in Finland and present your results at world-class conferences. Our department plans to attract 30 PhD students to its team. Responsibilities may vary depending on the direction and stage of research.

  • Stability and dynamics of magnetic nanostructures;
  • Heteronuclear MRI;
  • RFID tags based on novel materials and principles;
  • Control of the nonlinear response of colloidal solutions of nanoparticles using metasurfaces;
  • Numerical methods for modeling highly inhomogeneous scattering media;
  • Nano-optics, theory / numerical modeling;
  • Advanced Methods of nanophotonics structures optimization.


  • A final year engineering student or PhD student no older than 2nd year. Physical education is a priority;
  • Good academic record;
  • English skill level Intermediate or higher;
  • High motivation, a wish to learn new things;
  • Participation in academic competitions, schools, physics competitions will be an advantage;
