Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor in General Physics

The Faculty of Physics of ITMO University is a creative synergy of professors, ambitious researchers and students. The Faculty of Physics of ITMO University invites a Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor in General Physics to join our young and rapidly developing team of like-minded people.

Responsibilities

teaching lectures in General Physics for students of different disciplines of ITMO University;
teaching practical and laboratory classes in General Physics for students of different disciplines of ITMO University;
synchronization of lectures, practical and laboratory classes;
providing guidance and support in methodology to the assistants working on the course;
development, updating and modification of lecture courses;
development of learning materials for the course (study guides, electronic study guides, video manuals and other formats you are interested in);
development of laboratory classes’ content (including virtual labs);
maintaining the course in the learning management system LMS Moodle (we provide guaranteed training and technical support);
developing tasks for academic Olympiads, projects, and interdisciplinary tasks for students and school students.

Requirements

higher education in Physics and Mathematics, or in Engineering;
PhD degree, or PhD in Engineering (or a Russian degree: Candidate of physical and mathematical sciences, or Candidate of Technical Sciences);
at least three years’ teaching experience;
willingness and skills in teaching in distance education;
well-developed communication skills;
wide area of knowledge in natural science and engineering;
meeting the requirements of ITMO University for the academic staff;
active research work is welcome (articles published in well-ranked indexed journals);
knowledge of English: Upper-Intermediate or a higher level is welcome;
programming skills, knowledge of LaTex, skills in Mathcad, Matlab, Mathematica packages would be an advantage.
