The Faculty of Physics and Engineering of ITMO University is looking for a specialist in the field of Electrical Engineering for working in the field of Wireless Power Transmission (WPT).
The Faculty of Physics and Engineering of ITMO University is a creative synergy of honorary professors, ambitious scientists, and students. In a decade of joint work, we have grown from a small laboratory into a large international scientific center, where the most relevant scientific directions are developed, and educational programs are implemented.
We expect the candidate who can join one of the ongoing projects on wireless charging of implantable medical devices, charging of mobile devices and wearable electronics, charging of scooters and electric vehicles. We also open a new direction related to power harvesting. The mentioned research directions utilize different methods of WPT, namely near and far-field techniques. The background of the candidate should include a wide area of expertise starting from the low frequency solutions up to high frequency design, fabrication, and experimental study.
Responsibilities
- working on projects to create low-power and high-power solutions using near-field WPT techniques, including numerical study, fabrication of systems prototypes, experimental study of prototypes performances;
- publishing articles and preparing patents;
- represent the Faculty at conferences and seminars;
- participation in competitions for grants;
- cooperation with industrial partners;
- supervise Bachelors, Masters and PhD students;
Requirements
- PhD in Electrical Engineering or Radiophysics;
- knowledge and understanding of radio physics, electrical engineering, RF circuit design;
- skills in experimental research of passive and active microwave devices;
- skills in experimental research of antennas;
- publications in scientific journals;
- prior experience of presenting at conferences;
- team leader recommendations (from the previous workplace or where the defense took place);
- knowledge of English (Upper-Intermediate or higher).
