Junior Researcher in Photonics

The Faculty of Physics invites a PhD student in the area of photonics to join the team.

You will do experimental research in the areas of active and tunable photonics, create micro- and nanostructures using lithography and ablation methods, and study the fabricated structures in the optical range (with microspectroscopy, time-resolved spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy, and others).

Responsibilities

work on current research projects and publishing papers;
educational activities: holding laboratory classes in optics, supervising projects of Bachelor’s students;
submitting applications for grants, scholarships, awards;
supervising a student;
representing the Faculty and sharing the results of work at conferences and meetings;
conducting optical experiments (basic knowledge of spectroscopy, optics, photonics is required);
processing the obtained results.

Requirements

basic physics education;
good grades in major subjects;
experience of research or work in a research group in a similar area;
experience of presenting at conferences;
software skills: Matlab, Python, Origin, Illustrator;
knowledge of English: B1 (Intermediate) or a higher level;
well-developed information analysis skills and decision-making skills;
good communication skills;
well-developed systematic thinking skills;
experience of work with equipment/participation in experiments will be an advantage.
