Abstract
In solid state physics and photonics, special attention is paid to the linear magnetoelectric response associated with the violation of P- and T- symmetries and the principle of reciprocity. This response is known as axion or Tellegen response.
Recent studies of our group have revealed a new type of magnetoelectric non-reciprocal response, similar to the axion one, but interacting differently with the external sources. In this talk, I will present a microscopic model that captures such a response in a model antiferromagnetic system based on a lattice of spins coupled through the Heisenberg-type exchange interaction.
