Online + Dean's Office at 9 Lomonosova st.
Quantum computing is a rapidly evolving technology that promises a significant potential impact on different aspects of humanity. During the past few years, we've seen significant progress in the development of quantum computing devices, leading to growing interest from companies in different industries and, as a consequence, their involvement in the technology. This lecture will provide a vision of quantum computing from an industrial company's perspective. We will talk about the goals that companies pursue and what the typical strategies are. The lecture will also cover some particular computational problems that are being challenged by the industry. Finally, we will discuss some problems they face and the demands they address to the quantum community.
