The report will present a method for locating an active tag operating at a frequency of 13.5 MHz: a flat spiral coil (tag) placed between two receiver coils, in the presence of obstacles. The signal amplitude values are used as input parameters. The determination of the tag location is based on maintaining the transfer (target) function of the "active tag - receiver coil" system, despite changes in the physical parameters of obstacles.
The coil field distribution was numerically simulated, and the coefficients of the target function polynomials approximating real dependencies were calculated. Possible errors in locating the tag are estimated in the absence and presence of obstacles between the coils.
The coil system and the data processing method enable 1D spatial localization of the signal source, which can be used in practical RFID applications.
