Control of Light with Weyl Semimetals
Every week we will send you an e-mail with a digest of scientific events. Subscribe and wait for an e-mail!
Abstract
Weyl semimetals are topological materials whose electron quasiparticles obey the Weyl equation. They possess many unusual optoelectronic properties that may lead to new photonic applications. In this seminar, I will give a tutorial review of the optical properties and applications of Weyl semimetals. I will review the basic concepts and optical responses of Weyl semimetals and survey their applications in optics and thermal photonics. I hope this pedagogical discussion will motivate further research on this emerging topic.
Seminar is organized by Harbin Engineering University
