Hybrid photonics and optoelectronics laboratory engineer

Department of Physics and Engineering of ITMO University invites engineer to join the young and rapidly growing team of like-minded colleagues at the Laboratory of Hybrid Photonics and Optoelectronics.

The Department of Physics and Engineering of ITMO University is a creative synergy of honorary professors, ambitious scientists and students. For ten years of joint work, we have grown from a small laboratory into a large scientific center, where today the most relevant scientific directions are developed and educational programs implemented.


  • formation of weekly schedules, organization of accounting and regulation of equipment loading (including taking into account the Research Equipment Sharing Center);
  • making of new and development of existing regulations, instructions;
  • conducting briefings;
  • maintaining the working capacity and developing the laboratory infrastructure;
  • organization and control of the duty system to put things in order in the laboratory;
  • inventory, organization of purchases and accounting of consumables and chemicals reagents;
  • carrying out measures to ensure and improve the safety of work;
  • organization of the system of admissions and suspensions from work in the laboratory;
  • support of the work of trainees at the stage of obtaining admission;
  • creation and development of workplaces, participation in the development of measuring stands;
  • performing part of measurements on orders received at ITMO Research Equipment Sharing Center "Nanotechnologies".


  • Master's / Specialist’s degree (chemistry or physics);
  • experience with work in a chemical laboratory (required);
  • spoken English (the laboratory employs English-speaking staff);
  • experience with analytical equipment and optical instruments (highly desirable);
  • punctuality and commitment;
  • high level of responsibility;
