Postdoctoral position (Microwave Metamaterials and Metasurfaces)

The project is aimed at the development, modeling, and experimental studies of artificial structures (metamaterials and metasurfaces) in the microwave frequency range. The work will be aimed at both fundamentally new research, for example, the study of the properties of electromagnetic analogs of topological insulators, and the solution of applied problems, namely: the development of new antennas based on metamaterials, resonators for wireless power transmission and improved coils for magnetic resonance imaging.


  • numerical research and optimization of various electromagnetic structures in software packages such as CST Microwave Studio and / or COMSOL;
  • development of experimental samples and conducting microwave experiments, including: measurements in the near and far zones, extraction of material parameters, carrying out nonlinear microwave measurements;
  • analysis and processing of numerical and experimental results;
  • writing scientific articles;
  • work with students (help, scientific guidance).


  • specialized physical education (postgraduate study or candidate of science degree);
  • experience with measuring equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, vector network analyzers, signal generators, signal amplifiers);
  • experience in conducting microwave experiments;
  • work with software packages for numerical modeling;
  • basic programming skills;
  • experience of students’ supervision;
  • prior experience of conferences speaking;
  • team leader recommendations (from the previous workplace or where the defense took place);
  • knowledge of English (Upper-Intermediate or higher);
