Junior researcher in the area of acoustics

The Faculty of Physics of ITMO University is a creative synergy of professors, young ambitious researchers and students. Our team began as a small laboratory and has grown into a large scientific and educational center in 10 years of collaborative work. Today, we work in advanced research areas and implement relevant educational programs. We invite a junior researcher to join the acoustic group of our Faculty.

The employee will work on numerical and experimental research in the areas of elastic vibrations, sound, and ultrasound under the guidance of leading researchers of the scientific center. The employee's tasks will include theoretical description of phenomena, creation of numerical models in modern simulation packages (COMSOL and others), planning and conducting experimental studies.

At the Faculty, the following areas of acoustic research are currently being developed:

  • fundamental acoustics (high-quality resonators, topological acoustics, acoustics of variable media);
  • aeroacoustics (metamaterials for controlling acoustic waves);
  • acoustic mechanics (acoustic forces, acoustic levitation)
  • acousto-electronics and acousto-optics (acoustic biosensors, fiber-optic ultrasonic hydrophones);
  • medical acoustics (processing of biomedical signals, wireless charging of implants).

It is possible to open new or related topics.
