Postdoc in theoretical atomic physics

New Phystech team invites young scientists with a PhD degree to join our team. 

The group’s scientific interests:

  • relativistic theory of atoms and molecules;
  • quantum electrodynamics;
  • highly charged ions;
  • search for new physics in precision experiments.

Responsibilities

What you will do:

  • work on scientific tasks within the framework of ongoing projects;
  • plan new projects and apply for grants;
  • write and publish scientific papers;
  • coordinate the work of undergraduate and graduate students;
  • participate in educational activities.

Requirements

What you should have:

  • PhD in physics or mathematics;
  • research experience in one of the closely related areas of theoretical physics: atomic physics, quantum field theory, quantum computer science, quantum chemistry;
  • publications in highly ranked journals (IF > 2), including first author publications;
  • experience in application for grants and participation in projects;
  • English language skills at least B2 (Upper-Intermediate);
  • programming skills (Python / C / Fortran / Mathematica).

An extra advantage will be:

  • independent project management;
  • talks at international conferences;
  • working abroad experience in this field.
